Public Safety Day

PUBLIC SAFETY DAY IS COMING SOON!
WHEN: October 14th from 10AM – 3PM
WHERE: The Beach near Fire Station 2
Public Safety Day is a new annual event with the primary goal of providing residents of all ages with fun, education, and memorable interactive experiences related to Bent Tree Fire/Rescue and Public Safety. Although children will be the focus of this event, there will be something for everyone, so don’t miss out!

  • Grilled hot dogs @ 12 PM
  • Special gifts and prizes for kids
  • See our fire trucks and rescue vehicles up close
  • Practice using a fire extinguisher 
  • Put out a simulated fire with a real fire hose
  • Enter Pickens County’s Fire Safety House (kids only)
  • Test your running speed on the speed trailer
  • Watch our firefighters race the clock performing a "quick dress" @ 1 PM

Cooking Safety and Fire Prevention

According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Thanksgiving was the peak day for home cooking fires, followed by Christmas Day and Christmas Eve in 2019. Cooking was also the leading cause of reported home fires and home fire injuries between 2015-2019.
