The holidays are right around the corner, which for many families means there will be more home cooking taking place. While the holidays are a source of joy for many, unsafe cooking and related house fires have the potential to ruin the season. According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Thanksgiving was the peak day for home cooking fires, followed by Christmas Day and Christmas Eve in 2019. Cooking was also the leading cause of reported home fires and home fire injuries between 2015-2019.
