An amendment to the rules to allow vetted contractors to purchase transponders has been presented to the Board of Directors, who will have an opportunity to vote on it at the Board meeting Tuesday, November 14th. There are many benefits to this program listed below.
- Contractors with jobs near the back gate would not have to drive as much within the community to get to their destination. This results in less damage to the roads and fewer traffic incidents involving contractor vehicles.
- Contractors with transponders will be held responsible through the program for their own speeding fines.
- Residents using contractors with transponders will not have to call them in to Public Safety.
- Gate operations will run smoother with fewer backups at the front gate.
There will be a thorough application process for interested contractors, and we have the capability to track their entry times through either gate. Entry at unauthorized times or for illegitimate purposes will result in the involved contractor losing transponder access.
Below is a link to see the proposed changes to our rules. Words that have been struck through would be eliminated, and highlighted items are new. The majority of strikethroughs simply eliminate verbiage that is no longer applicable to our rules.
