PARKING & ACCESSIBILITY
The Bent Tree fireworks show is intended for residents and their families. With our increased population, it is important to preserve the safety and accessibility of our fireworks show. Parking and viewing spaces are limited, so please utilize golf carts if possible. Parking is not allowed at the Spillway. However, parking will be available in the grassy area directly across from the Memorial Garden. Our team will be actively monitoring the number of guests that are allowed in. Large outside groups are discouraged. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office will also be on scene to help ensure the safety of all. Please stress to all guests the importance of respecting our community rules and driving safely and slowly.
ROAD CLOSURES
The following road closures will be in place during the Independence Day events on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023:
-Tamarack Drive from the Tavern to the first beach entrance from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 12:00 p.m. will be closed. No through traffic will be allowed during this time for the safety of the runners, staff, volunteers, and spectators. A detour around this area will be Crippled Oak Trail to Tamarack Drive. Access to the beach area can be made by following Crippled Oak Trail to Tamarack Drive, turn left on Tamarack Drive and then right on Fox Den Circle at the beach.
-A rolling road closure will take place on Tamarack Drive along the path of the road race from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The race begins at the beach and does a full counterclockwise circle around Tamarack Drive. Traffic will not be allowed to pass the runners from behind.
-Beginning at 1:45 p.m. the following sections of roads will be closed as the parade passes through:
1. Little Pine Mountain Road from the Tavern to Alpine Drive.
2. Alpine Drive to Mulligan Way and Mulligan Way to Tamarack Drive.
3. Tamarack Drive westbound around the dam, spillway, and beach back to the Tavern.
During the parade, golf carts that are participating will be allowed to use the roads. All other residents in the parade route must not be driving. The parade is expected to last at least 90 minutes. Please plan accordingly if you need to be outside of Bent Tree near the time of the road race or parade.
GUEST ENTRY
It is very important for residents who do not use Gatehouse to call in their 4th of July guests at 770-893-2628 by Sunday, July 2nd. Our gate will be extremely busy leading up to the 4th, and staff will have minimal time to take phone calls.
Upon arrival, guests should have their driver’s license ready to display and be able to advise the resident’s name and address. To prevent major backups at the gate, we will promptly decline entry to visitors who arrive without valid driver's licenses or proper clearance and have them turn around.
TENTS
Tents should not be set up on the beach or any other common area before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3rd. Tents erected prior to that time will interfere with maintenance and other tasks our crews must perform.
BOATS
All boats used within Bent Tree must be registered by the property owner through Admin. The registration fee is $50 per boat beyond the two included with annual fees.
Registration is limited by the following Policy:
1) NO vessel rated for more than six adult passengers will be registered.
2) NO vessel with any form of internal combustion engine will be registered.
3) NO vessel exceeding 72 inches in width, at the widest part, will be registered.
The fine for operating a boat without a current BT registration decal attached is $100. This will be enforced, so please ensure any boats associated with your property are not only registered but have the decals properly affixed to the left front of the vessel.
FIREWORKS
As a reminder, the use of fireworks within Bent Tree is prohibited by anyone other than BTCI or others contracted by BTCI. Fines of $1,000 will be issued for violations.
The entire Bent Tree Safety & Emergency Management team will be working very hard to ensure safe and enjoyable Independence Day events take place, leading up to the popular fireworks display at dark. When you leave the beach area after the fireworks display, please be patient and follow the traffic control provided by our officers. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and have a happy and safe Independence Day.
