Saturday afternoon, 4/1/23, a downed powerline caused a brushfire between Little Pine Mountain Road and Mountain Breeze Lane. The fire was discovered by Chief Beavers while patrolling for road hazards. Eight more members of the Bent Tree Fire Department immediately responded to the scene, six of which from off-duty.

Engines 33 and 32 were strategically utilized, and actions were taken to contain the fire and fully extinguish it once Amicalola EMC shut the power down. The incident lasted over six hours, and the involved personnel worked very hard to ensure no residents were at risk from the fire. Thankfully, this fire was found quickly. Bent Tree is a massive community, and we need everyone’s help to be watchful and report hazards such as this immediately to our department at 770-893-2628.
