At approximately 5:30 PM on 7/20/23 strong winds and a possible tornado caused significant damage to our community essentially without warning. Approximately 80 trees were taken down in Bent Tree roads, many involving power lines. The immediate response from off-duty officers, community volunteers, and BT Operations and Admin staff was incredible. In less than 24 hours, all Bent Tree roads not affected by downed power lines were rendered passable. The Safety & Emergency Management team is grateful to everyone who assisted and showed overwhelming support to our department.
