Bent Tree Activities Committee Events and Interest Groups

As a service to the Bent Tree Community, the Bent Tree Activities Committee prepares a printed directory every year and one copy is provided for each property at no charge.

Please click here to open a pdf version of the Community Directory then click CTRL + F to search the document.

Note: This directory is different than the BTCI  online roster.

Each year Bent Tree Activities Committee sponsors several events for the children and grandchildren of Bent Tree property owners. These include an Easter Egg Hunt, Youth Fest and a Children's Christmas Party. Specific details of each event will be publicized in the echo, on community bulletin boards and on the Bent Tree website.

Around the 4th of July, BTAC organizes Youth Fest which is a week-long series of fun classes and get-togethers which include arts & crafts, tennis, golf, horseback riding, hiking, woodworking, and a variety of other activities. Because of its size and complexity, detailed information about registration, cost and the multiple programs of Youth Fest are found under the Youth Fest tab.

Spring Leagues start April 15th
$10 per 2 people
6-8 games at your own pace

Bocce in some form has been played since 5000 BC, but became popular in Italy when Rome expanded it's empire to the far East.  Immigration from Italy spread the game around the glove, especially in the U.S. in the early 20th Century.

At Bent Tree we play a two-person team format.  It's played with a small white ball, called the palino, which is the target ball.  Each team has four balls to roll and the team whose ball ends up closes to the palino scores points.

Our season lasts for eight weeks and teams usually play between six and eight games, depending on the number of teams in the league.  Teams schedule their own games and an on-line system is available to coordinate game times.

It's probably the simplest game you will ever play and loads of fun.

Come join us and have some fun.  Look for our flyers before each season begins.

Description:
Bent Tree’s version of a supper club, made up of groups of eight people OR 1 large group (couples and/or singles) who meet once a month at each other’s homes for a meal. Each couple takes a turn hosting the group at a mutually convenient date and time. The host chooses the format of the meal and prepares the main dish and also contacts the other members of the group to arrange appropriate side dishes. The meals can be simple to complex, ethnic to good ol' home cooking, dinner or brunch, eating in or going out. Anything goes!
This is an excellent way to meet new people, find out what's happening around the community, and deepen our friendships here in Bent Tree. - all while participating in one of our favorite pastimes….eating.
Location:
Varies. Most dinners are held in homes, but it is up to the group and some have been known to go to restaurants or unique venues in lieu of a meal at someone's house.
Meeting:
The suppers will start March/April and go through October/November. This is entirely up to the group/s how long they want to go, usually break over the winter.
Cost:
None.
